Travel basketball preparations are underway!  While open gyms (September) are not mandatory, it is a great opportunity for players to get some time on the court with potential teammates and coaches prior to tryouts.  

Travel basketball tryouts are open to competitive players, 5th through 8th grades.  Tryouts will be held at the beginning of October. Prospective players must attend at least two of three tryouts to be considered.  Teams will be selected immediately after the final tryout date for your league, and pre-season practices will begin in late October.

CYA travel is part of the Fairfax County Youth Basketball League (FCYBL), which is a non-profit organization.  Travel season begins late-November and concludes in early March.
